2 C sugar 1 1/4 C oil 3 eggs 2 1/2 C flour 1 t baking soda 2 t baking powder 1 t salt 1 T vanilla 2 Medium Granny Smith apples peeled and chopped 1 C finely chopped pecans (sliced almonds work well also) Mix all ingredients except apples and pecans. Add in apples and pecans. Bake in a 10 inch bundt pan at 350 for 1 hour. Pour sauce over hot cake and cool in pan. Remove from pan when cool. Sauce 1 stick butter/margarine 1/2 C buttermilk 1 C sugar 1/2 t baking soda 1 t vanilla Combine all ingredients in a medium pot and boil for 10 minutes stirring constantly.
